as you're so keen on seeing (and listening to?)
English, how about watching Desperate Housewives in
the original. You just need a cable-TV-provider
supplying Swiss TV-programmes and a modern TV.
Watch it on mondays from 20 hrs on SF 1 and switch to
tone channel 2 - et voilà. They have all American (alas,
no received English pronunciation) series with either
German or English sound.

Hey there! I do need a posh ENglish accent since mine is rather AMERICAN ... Im not into TV technology, so I dont really know what broadband is, is it the same in German, like "Broadband" or Breitband??? love from Fendi (who feels a little embarrassed about her knwoledge about technical things...) :)

All what you need for broadband is a computer, because broadband is 'Breitband'. It has nothing to do with a TV.
You don't need to be embarrassed about technical things, I'm not en expert either. :-) But I can watch the Tagesschau on my computer since we have broadband.

if you don't have cabel TV yet you should try to find out
whether the cable-TV-provider in your city (I think there's
only one per city, but I'm not quite sure) does provide SF
1 and 2 or not. As we're living in Baden-Württemberg
we're quite close to Switzerland, but Hamburg's Cable
will rather have Danish TV than Swiss Channels etc.
Unfortunately, Satellite TV does not provide
'Zweikanalton', as far as I know, so that wouldn't be an
alternative....
Otherwise, go and get DVDs (I'll be watching the 2nd
part of Bridget Jones tonight)
